James is a nationally recognized leader of one of the largest multiple listing services in northern California. MLSListings Inc serves more than 15,000 subscribers, and promotes the listings of more than 65,000 real estate professionals through a regional data share.
James is a 30 year veteran of REALTOR® Association and regional MLS management in the states of Texas, Virginia and California.
James has served on the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) MLS Policy Committee for nine years, and is the former chair of the NAR/National Realtor Database System Standards Board. He has also served as a member of the Board of Governors for the Association Executive Institute, as a director for NAR, and on the board of advisors for the Center for Realtor Technology (CRT). James was part of the Presidential Advisory Group that created the NAR Real Estate Gateway project; now known as Realtor Property Resource, or RPR. He currently serves on the board of directors for RPR, on the Executive Advisory Committee for MOVE.Com, on the NAR MLS Policy Committee, on the NAR Data Strategies Committee and on the NAR Emerging Issues and Trends Advisory Board. He is also a board member of the Council of MLSs. He is a frequent speaker at industry events.
James holds a B.A in Business Administration in Management from Sul Ross State University in Texas. He also holds a Certified Association Executive, (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives as well as a REALTOR® Association Certified Executive (RCE) from NAR. In 2008 and 2010, James was named by Inman News as one of the Top 100 most Influential Leaders in real estate, and in 2013 was named by Swanepoel as one of the Power 200, Most Powerful People in Residential Real Estate. James is a member of COVE, an organization representing the 23 largest MLS organizations in the country.
James is also an active member of the Silicon Valley Alliance of Chief Executives.
